Swedish Dreams (Are Made Of This)
In 1994, two things happened: I was born, and a car company was founded...

On the surface, these two things appear to be unconnected, and at least on the part of the car company, we are unconnected. However, this car company means a lot to me, especially because it fuels my dreams of supercar ownership and sets my vehicle dreams high. The company founded in 1994 was Koenigsegg.
In 1994, while in his twenties, Christian von Koenigsegg founded the car company that bears his name and has built some of the greatest mega-cars of the past three decades. Koenigsegg creates some of the greatest technological advancements in vehicle production, from their use of Freevalve, camshaft-less engines, to their Engage Shift System that allows the transmission to either be a full manual with a clutch pedal or an automatic transmission. Technological advances like these set Koenigsegg above all of its competition, and these advances have also inspired me to dream beyond what I thought was possible within my abilities, such as owning a Koenigsegg or starting this blog. Dreaming about owning a car as expensive and exclusive as a Koenigsegg has helped empower me to follow other dreams that are more attainable or accomplishable at this time. I will always say that my wife is the person who inspires me most, and without her, this blog certainly would not have been possible at all, and it would have remained a dream that would never be fulfilled.
Growing up, I was never enamored with Ferraris or Lamborghinis. I had a period of time when I found myself drooling over Pagani Zondas. That changed, though; the first time I watched a review of a Koenigsegg, which was the CC8S, I immediately changed my dream garage from having a Pagani in it to having a Koenigsegg in it. From that point on, I am always searching for Koenigsegg model cars or drooling over the latest new car they produced. With the price tags on those cars as high as they are, I have never seen one in person, and I have only driven one in a video game, but still, I have never lost my interest or desire for one. After owning a Saab, that desire only increased and has even led me to have a general interest in going to visit Sweden. Some people may say though that cars like these are pointless, you cannot drive them at the speeds the car is capable of, you can only enjoy so much of the car before you crash it, or people may say that they aren’t practical for regular use. Those people would be correct, too; there is no safe place, other than a racetrack, where the full potential of Koenigsegg can be enjoyed. The doors, while completely unique, make parking next to high curbs dangerous. However, I say that why should a dream be practical? How practical is it to own a private jet, a 20,000-square-foot house, or a private yacht? Only a few people in the world have the resources to own things like that, but people dream about owning them all the time. Dreams about owning supercars, hypercars, or megacars are the same way.
The Koenigsegg that has taken over in my dream car garage is the CC850. The combination of the restyled classic design that harkens back to the original CC8S and the technological advances that Koenigsegg has developed makes it the stuff of dreams. In the past, my dream Koenigsegg has changed pretty much every time they released a new car, but now I am
confident it will remain the CC850 because it is the perfect combination, in my opinion. It is hard to believe that thirty years ago, a car manufacturer was created that would set the bar for the most advanced technological achievements, and halfway through that, the company would inspire me to dream about things I could accomplish and cars I could hopefully drive one day.
