Why I Started This Car Blog

Afterward, I changed my mind and decided I wanted to work on something else, so I joined the United States Air Force and worked on U-2S planes for seven years. From that time in my life, I met my best friend and wife, who now also has to live with my car obsession. When I got out of the Air Force, I decided to go to college, and for a time, I thought about going to a technical institute and learning to work on cars professionally, but I wanted to specialize in a specic brand, Porsche, to be exact. However, that was not possible. I have a few injuries from my time in the Air Force that prevented me from being able to be an auto mechanic full-time so that pursuit went away.

Since I cannot be an auto mechanic anymore, I have tried innumerable ways to saturate myself with the world of cars. I pretty much only play racing video games, read several car magazine websites and other blogs, try my hardest to keep up with new car news, and partake in several dierent car podcasts. However, all of these ventures did not seem like enough. I felt like I was partaking in a hobby that I enjoy so much from the outside. It felt like other people were doing cool things or experiencing cool things with cars directly, and I was experiencing it vicariously through the experiences they are sharing through another medium. Now, I am tired of that feeling, though, and want to be more directly involved in having experiences with cars.

I want to lay down some basics for my plans for what I want this blog to be. First o this blog is going to be mostly an opinion blog, perhaps sometimes unpopular opinions, but opinions rst and foremost. I do not want to put my opinions out there to put any person or what they may like about cars down in any way. Everyone has their own tastes, and not everyone else may share them. Second, I will use this blog to get new or interesting car news out there. Many car magazines and blogs already do this, but I will put my perspective on it and hope to give it an interesting twist. Third, I will try to get the word out about some mediums I go through for car entertainment that perhaps not many people know about, even though some of these mediums will be bigger than this blog at the time it starts.

I have other longer-term goals for this blog, like trying to write reviews about cars, which will start with the car I own now. Trying to give on-the-ground perspectives about certain car events I can attend, such as my local cars and coee events. There are other things, too, but those are all a while from now. I realize that in the universe that is enjoying cars as a hobby, this will be an uphill battle, but I will try no matter what because life is short, and it is better to try and fail than fail at trying. So, with that, please join me in this experience as I drive through the world with cars as my hobby and passion.
